Bristol
Rock'n'roll is magic in that it collates bands with their predecessors' thousands of legends, that have filled so many magazines, books and reports. We perform in the evening for Les Fête de la Musique in Eghezée, the next day it's time for us to go to Bristol. Of course, very early in the morning one of the two teams is late. We fear that we could miss the boat. The seven of us eventually go on board. Only Benjamin has stayed at home. Sébastien thinks of Marvin Gaye, ferries always make him think of Marvin Gaye... Arrival in Bristol, they are lost... Jesse eventually arrives in his Micra. Everyone is to meet Maddy and Rasha at Fishponds park. Game of Frisbee. Settling in Jesse's basement flat in Fishponds Road. The girls settle in the singer's room... In the afternoon, they visit the studio in the Indian quarter and try to find solutions to the eternal computer problems. Then they go in search of the pubs in the town centre. The recording begins (for further information about the recording, please refer to "Making of"). The band stays in the cellar for the better part of the day. Everything goes on well, they have fun, ideas fly from all sides, everything takes shape as if by magic. But Jesse's concentration requires them to have our parties with friends outside. We celebrate Barbara's birthday in a park. It's time for us to go. We go through the gates two minutes before the ticket offices close. The boat pitches, they are full of memories and hope that they will have completed the album by September. They are far from imagining the long way to go. |
